Your entry into modern robotics
Learn in just 10 days how to programme modern robots with ROS2 – from your first launch command to autonomous navigation. Together with FH Aachen and MYBOTSHOP, we offer you practice-oriented training with real robots, up-to-date tools and exciting team projects.
Why you should take part:
✅ Learn ROS2 – step by step, from the ground up
🤖 Hands-on with real robots – including Agibot, Unitree, Clearpath
🧠 Theory & application – SLAM, navigation, OpenCV & more
🌐 Networking & industry insights – exchange with experts
🍔 Events & BBQs – summer, campus, community
The ROS Summer School 2026 is a comprehensive, two-week intensive event at FH Aachen dedicated entirely to modern robotics with ROS2. In just ten days, participants learn how to programme, network and enable modern robots for autonomous navigation using the open-source framework ROS2 (Robot Operating System 2). The training is specifically designed to give both robotics newcomers and advanced participants a practical, systematic introduction to professional robot programming. It covers not only fundamentals such as ROS2 architecture, nodes, topics, services and parameters, but also advanced content including transformation frameworks (TF2), SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), computer vision with OpenCV, path planning, collision avoidance and localisation algorithms with Nav2. Participants work directly with real robotic systems from research and industry, including mobile platforms such as the Clearpath Husky and Ridgeback, humanoid robots such as the Unitree G1 and H1, agile robot dogs such as the Unitree Go2, and self-balancing systems such as Ascento Research.
Alongside theoretical knowledge, the focus is on practical application: in workshops, hands-on exercises, hack sessions and supervised project phases, participants deepen their knowledge by working directly with the robots. Thanks to the close cooperation with FH Aachen and the robotics company MYBOTSHOP, participants benefit from an excellent technical environment, current hardware, state-of-the-art software and experienced mentors. In addition to the technical content, the ROS Summer School offers plenty of room for networking with fellow participants, industry experts and research institutions. Formats such as tech talks, campus events, company visits and relaxed BBQ evenings create a productive and motivating learning atmosphere.
Anyone looking to get started in robotics, automation engineering, mechatronics, artificial intelligence or computer vision will find the ideal entry point in the ROS Summer School 2026. The course conveys not only technological expertise but also practical project skills that are immediately applicable in your job, your studies or a startup environment. The combination of theoretical depth, practical application and real technology transfer makes the programme unique in the German-speaking world. Secure your place at the ROS Summer School 2026 now, deepen your knowledge of ROS2 and robotic systems, expand your professional network and become part of a growing community of robotics enthusiasts and developers.
