Your entry into the world of modern robotics with ROS2

The ROS Summer School 2026 is a two-week intensive programme run in close cooperation between MYBOTSHOP GmbH and FH Aachen. From 7 to 18 September 2026, you’ll get a hands-on introduction to the open-source framework ROS2 (Robot Operating System) at FH Aachen’s Campus Goethestraße.

In workshops, talks and hands-on sessions, you’ll learn how to programme, network and autonomously control modern robotic systems – working directly on real robotics hardware.

Whether autonomous mobile platforms, robotic arms or humanoid robots – ROS2 forms the technological foundation for forward-looking robotics applications in industry, research and start-ups.

These robots are waiting for you:

You’ll get hands-on with a wide range of modern robotic systems – subject to final availability, including:

Clearpath Husky & Ridgeback – proven industrial platforms for research and development

Unitree G1 & H1 – humanoid robots with versatile applications

Unitree B2W – agile mobile platform for dynamic environments

Ascento Research – self-balancing mobile robot for urban scenarios

Unitree Go2 – highly mobile robot dog for navigation and sensing

Agibot – advanced humanoid robot platforms for research, development and industrial automation.

The ROS Summer School 2026 at FH Aachen is an intensive two-week robotics training programme that gives you practical, well-founded knowledge in autonomous robotics, sensor technology and robot programming with ROS2 (Robot Operating System 2). Organised in close cooperation between FH Aachen and the robotics company MYBOTSHOP GmbH, the programme is aimed at students, developers, engineers and technology enthusiasts who want to understand modern robotics technologies not only in theory but also apply them in practice.

The focus is on key robotics technologies, including ROS2 architecture, communication models such as nodes, topics and services, and the integration of sensors such as LiDAR, IMU and cameras. You’ll learn how to work with tools like Gazebo, RViz and OpenCV, navigate mobile platforms, implement SLAM (Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping) and safely control autonomous systems. Along the way, you’ll work directly with robots such as the Clearpath Husky, Unitree Go2, Unitree H1, Ascento Research and the quadruped robot dog Unitree B2W – robotic systems that are also used in industry and research.

Alongside the technical know-how, the ROS Summer School offers you plenty of opportunities to network with experts from academia and industry. In open coding sessions, team projects and community events, you’ll make connections that can open valuable doors for a career in robotics or automation engineering. Whether you’re looking to get started with ROS2 development, working on research projects with autonomous robots, or wanting to expand your knowledge of AI-driven robotics – the ROS Summer School 2026 delivers exactly the content you need.

The event takes place at FH Aachen’s Campus Goethestraße and offers you an inspiring environment with modern, well-equipped labs, experienced lecturers and a practice-oriented programme that reflects current demands from industry and academia. Secure your place now and become part of a unique training opportunity at the heart of the German robotics landscape.
